Mineral Beneficiation. What is mineral beneficiation? Mineral beneficiation is a process by which valuable constituents of an ore are concentrated by means of a physical separation process. As one of the initial steps of extractive metallurgy, the main purpose is to prepare the ore prior to downstream purification processes.

Cyanidation, or the metallurgical process of extracting gold from ore with cyanide leaching agents, has long been a primary method of gold beneficiation.Widely used throughout the world, one incredible material helps to make gold recovery from a cyanide solution possible; with its ultra-porous structure, activated carbon is a powerful adsorbent used …
Globally, copper, silver, and gold orebody grades have been dropping, and the mineralogy surrounding them has become more diversified and complex. The cyanidation process for gold production has remained dominant for over 130 years because of its selectivity and feasibility in the mining industry. For this reason, the industry has …

The adsorption of PAX or ADD on the gold ore is chemisorption process and the compound collector has a strong chemisorption capacity. The novel closed-circuit flotation process using compound collector develops an excellent beneficiation effect and provides a prospective and effective approach to concentrate low-grade gold ore.
This may mean that silver is less floatable than gold, or that the collector is more selective for gold than silver. For silver in Au-Ag sulfide ore, Han et al. reported that a good flotation index with silver recovery of 77.3 % and grade of 1014 g/t was achieved in a single collector (potassium amyl xanthate) system ( Han et al., 2011 ).
