Butyl diglyme, also called diethylene glycol di-n-butyl ether, is a polar aprotic solvent with excellent thermal and chemical stability. Glymes, or glycol diethers, are a widely used family of saturated polyethers for increasing anion reactivity in a given system, thus affecting selectivity and reaction rates.
Extraction of precious metals Diethylene glycol dibutyl ether is used as a solvent in Grignard reactions. BUTYL DIGLYME (Butyl Diglyme, bütil diglim, Diethylene glycol dibutyl ether, dietilen dibütil eter) is also used as solvents in gold refining, decorative inks for ceramics and digital inks.
You can achieve a gold purity of 99,99+ with BDG. Also, BDG is reusable. This tutorial will show you how to refine gold using it. Material: -Butyl Diglyme (go there …
BUTYL DIGLYME (Butyl Diglyme, bütil diglim, Diethylene glycol dibutyl ether, dietilen dibütil eter) is also commonly used on small scales as an extraction solvent for gold from hydrochloric acid media, a process which results in an extremely high concentration of pure gold metal. BUTYL DIGLYME (Butyl Diglyme, bütil diglim, Diethylene glycol ...

Several commercially proven applications use butyl diglyme (diethylene diglycol di-n-butyl ether or dibutyl carbitol, DBC) to extract gold(III) chloride from acidic aqueous solutions, including those used in INCO's operations in Canada (Edwards and te Riele, 1983). Gold extraction based on DBC is both cost effective and an …

We've had good results in the past with Butyl Diglyme (BD) after processing ore with SSN or Aqua Regia, but we've had something curious happen lately on another ore that we can't figure out. ... BD is only supposed to pull gold, although it can pull traces of iron with the gold, but it should always be a golden color. Once the BD captures the ...

Hi, I am experimenting with solvent extraction. I am able to achive a colour change from clear to a copper colour using Butyl Diglyme when I mix the filtered leach with the BD. I understood that if there is a colour change in the BD the you have transferred Gold chloride to the BD solvent. I go...
Barchasz et al. 181 found that conventional carbonate-based electrolytes cannot be used in Li/S cells and then suggested that Li/S cell electrolytes require solvents with high solvation power such as tetraglyme and ethyl diglyme, but not those solvents (e.g. monoglyme, butyl diglyme and 1,3-dioxolane) with low polysulfide solubility.
@Gratilla, The link, you are giving in your post has nothing to do with dissolution of metallic rhodium, nor is Saturated Saline Nitric Acid (SSN) it's subject. As far as I know, there exists no simple and at the same time efficient solvent extraction process for Rhodium(III). Unlike Iridium(III) it is not easily oxydized to the tetravalent state, in …

The dissolved scrap gold forms gold chloride. The chlorides of silver and platinum may also be present. The refiner filters away the undissolved material and then separates the dissolved gold from the other dissolved precious metals using butyl diglyme. This clear, odorless liquid can hold dissolved gold chloride but rejects the …
